1979年入南京大学，1989年获理学博士学位。现为浙江大学环境与发展研究所所长、card区域发展研究所常务副所长、房地产投资研究所副所长，从事原生态设计研究、水景设计与治理专业研究20余年，nars自然水景系统创立人和原生态规划设计的创导者。nars自然水景系统能使水体清澈见底，景观生动美丽，可解决目前水景中水体浑浊、发黄变臭的难题。曾主持参加数十项国内外科研项目研究和近百项横向项目开发，发表100多篇论文，7部专著。近年来为国内知名楼盘、度假村和众多园林景观水体设计、营造nars自然水景系统，对水景设计、营造和治理有丰富的实践经验（详见www.nars.cn）。
